TN FAMILY FARM LIFESTYLE SESSION | THE BYRDS

Wednesday

I had the incredible pleasure of photographing the sweetest family EVER last summer at their farm and home in TN. Not only are they the absolute SWEETEST family, but they fully enjoy spending time together, are wonderful hosts (anytime I've offered sweet tea and pie I'm smitten) and genuinely care for those that come into their lives. I adored exploring their farm and finding such incredible scenery to use for their session. The light was incredible...I've never seen any like it. When we were around the hay, seeing all the little dust flutters dancing in the light was so beautiful, even Rusty commented on how magical it looked!

Stacy & Rusty are incredible. You can see in the way they look, talk and touch each other just how madly in love they are after 20 years! Can you believe it?!?! 20 years!! Actually...its 25, they are high school sweethearts! Eeek! So wonderful! Both Elizabeth and Auston are super, super talented young adults! Auston is very intelligent, an awesome soccer player, active in 4H and so handsome (and somewhat bashful, I can see him blushing at me stating that)! Elizabeth is a true musical talent. She writes her own music and lyrics, plays the guitar and piano (among other instruments) and is such a vibrant and beautiful lady! I honestly feel so lucky that this incredible journey brought us together! I hope you enjoy their session as much as I did!

Ps...they had a donut and old bottled coke picnic with their pup, Sophie. I mean...how could I not love them?!?

BAY AREA LIFESTYLE HEADSHOTS | STEELE MY HEART

Wednesday

January 28, 2014; the day I met Ryanne will go down in our SF history! I decided I was going to find people here in the Bay Area in our industry...put myself out there (which, lets face it isn't easy for anyone) and make some friends, industry peers and, hopefully down the road, some connections. What I wasn't "planning" on was the incredible friendships I would make on this adventure. Ryanne Steele from Steele My Heart, Hand Lettered Signage, Modern Calligraphy & Wedding Planning, has turned out to be one of my best girlfriends! She has SUCH an amazing spirit...she's just effervescent!! From our first bite at an Alameda Thai restaurant to our jaunts around the Alameda Flea Market to working together on some fun and exciting projects, I just adore our friendship and was SO incredibly excited when she asked for new head shots for her website! No jacket or blazer for this chicky! We wanted to have fun, show off her personality and really show off how talented and unique she is! As she states on her site, "I believe that you should look to hire vendors that you feel comfortable with, the kind of people you would want to be friends with long after your Wedding Day."

We had such a fun time hanging over in my neighbor's apartment (thank you Carrie!!!) and then we made our way over to a famous little corner of our neighborhood called, Vesuvio. We had a beer (or two) and continued with the shoot. I love how this head shot session wasn't buttoned up or covered up, but showed tattoos, curly hair, beer drinking and the most awesome handletterer and planner in the Bay Area! Enjoy!! {Makeup: Makeup by Adele}

the buehlers in the city

Thursday

This family, this city, this session. Everything absolutely lined up for my FIRST San Francisco shoot! I couldn't have asked for better clients to kick start my business. It's kind of crazy how Katie and I "met". I posted K&R's sneak peak of their Knoxville wedding, and Katie happened to see it in a round-a-bout way. She then happened to see that I was located here in SF and boom I got a message! Not only is she crazy sweet, but she is also "from" Knoxville. What?! It's like it was meant to be! Her husband is completing his residency here in the city and they will be heading back to Knoxville later in June. I'm crazy sad to see them go as I've developed quite the little crush on this family!

Katie said she wanted to document her family's short time here in the city with some of their favorite local spots! A typical Saturday for them. I loved the idea! So off we went to Alta Plaza Park then for a couple of sweet treats at Sift. I LOVE some of the shots we got there!! To see Ella and Collin light up at all the cupcakes was SO stinking adorable! We rounded out the lifestyle session with a quintessential SF moment. Catching the Muni. Lets say, this was perfect. Not only was it a crowded bus, but it 100% had the feel of San Francisco. People completely did their thing while I snapped shots all around them. Then, as we were getting off of the bus, it just so happened to break down. A sweet southern accent and a question and boom, we were back on the bus for a few minutes taking extra pics. LOVE this city!!! Enjoy!

 These three next photos are so stinking cute!!! LOVE the last one...probably my favorite picture of the session!
