Featured: The Inspired Editorial | Blush and Honey Paper Branding Session

Tuesday

I have been a major slacker when it comes to the blog and keeping it up to date with all the loveliness that is going on in business, eep! Be sure to follow along on Instagram for weekly updates and behind the scene stories thanks to Instagram Stories...its just one more way for us to stalk each other! :D

One of the amazing items that I didn't share that I am BEYOND proud of is a feature in a new and fresh online magazine called The Inspired Editorial! It's a fantastic resource for small business creatives that has tons of beautiful eye candy and incredible tidbits and interviews with movers and shakers in our industry! Brit Chandler, the owner and creative mind behind the Inspired Editorial has put her heart, soul and talent into bringing the not-so-fun business stuff to creatives in a beautifully packaged, and easily accessible online platform! I'm thrilled that she interviewed one of my incredibly talented and best friends, Lauren Hitchcock, with Blush and Honey Paper for her FIRST Etsy Envy series! You can check out the snippet of the interview HERE, but be sure to download the magazine so that you can read the full interview!

Lauren began her watercolor portrait business about 2 years ago when she began watercoloring elements for her own wedding and found the passion and IMMENSE talent she has! It makes sense that Lauren has all this creativeness pouring out of her as she is an Elementary School Art Teacher and is surrounded by little ones that have open minds and no inhibitions. If you look at her Etsy page, you'll notice she has a way with painting the most whimsical and cheerful custom portraits! She focuses on pets, but has added many other custom works like family illustrations, home illustrations, and super cute greeting cards! She even surprised me with a custom illustration of my headshot, my wedding dress, bouquet and Rob's boutonnieres. I about died and absolutely love having them hang up on my wall above my desk! They are the perfect inspiration! Y'all...she's a force to be reckoned with! She just published her own kiddos book, D is for Dog: Pups from A-Z and in case I haven't gushed enough about her, she has teamed up with her local animal shelter and every purchase of a custom painted pet portrait feeds a pet in need! She is just fantastic!

I'm so excited to share these amazing branding session images that I got to take with Lauren back in Knoxville. We rented The Hive Knoxville for her session and by the end of it she was illustrating on their chalkboard and they asked to keep it up for the rest of the day! ;) Enjoy!!

Destination Amelia Island Wedding | Ashley & Tim Married

Wednesday

As I write this post, I am filled with joy, love and let's be honest...I'm totally tearing up thinking about this magical day! I had the unbelievable honor of photographing my BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING! Words can't begin to describe how happy I am for my bestie and her husband, Tim. I'm so happy they have found love and a forever!

It was the sweetest of ceremonies! Ashley and Tim were surrounded by 10 of their closest friends and family members and I am just beside myself that I was one of those 10! What an honor! Their little lovebug, Ava, was giddily watching with her sweet cousin holding her through the ceremony! The absolute cutest moment happened when Tim was saying his vows and put the ring on Ashley's finger; sweet Ava churped up and said "Yay, Daddy!" Everyone turned and laughed with tears in our eyes and the fullest of hearts! I'm being rather mushy in this post, but in all honesty, this day was filled with so much love, so much joy and so much happiness! It truly was such an incredible day!

The Amelia Island Williams House was the perfect setting for the intimate day! Those who stayed in the beautiful bed and breakfast said the breakfast at the Inn was to die for and loved learning about the history of the Inn. We all enjoyed walking through the town, grabbing lunch together, and catching up! I went out exploring the day before the wedding and found two absolutely incredible portrait areas for photos! The first was Canopy Drive at Fort Clinch State Park where there was hanging Spanish Moss, endless palm trees and palm fronds (my new favorite) and the light was just absolutely magical! Tim, Ashley and I spent some time here just the three of us and it was so magical! I also found an incredible location that I am sure is very popular in the area for photographers, called Boneyard Beach on Big Talbot Island...but we happened to catch it at a beautifully quiet time! The whole gang walked the 10-12 min walk (ahem...hike) and I continued to promise that the walk was totally worth the view! And it was! Everyone loved the beauty of the decayed trees that have been eroded from the beach front and it really was a magical place for photos! The bugs on the other hand were insane; perhaps it was because we were officially at dusk, but we spent about 3 min at this location and then decided to head to dinner at Espana, easily one of the best Spanish meals we've had...it was delicious! The night was spent laughing, telling stories, eating amazing food and drinking yummy wine and enjoying the coming together of these two beautiful souls! Enjoy their day! :D
