megan & pete {san francisco photographer}

Thursday

Megan is one of the best souls you'll meet. She is so effervescent and Pete is calm and collected. Ying and Yang...in all good ways! I am lucky to call Megan a friend and colleague through photography. She is the awesome talent behind Break the Mold Photography and I was absolutely tickled when she asked me to take Christmas photos of her and Pete and their munchkin Simon!

Megan and Pete have this awesome tradition! They have photos taken at Christmas time every year by different photographers! What an awesome way to spread the love AND what a way to experience different photographers and different styles. I just loved the idea!

Megan is super crafty. I love crafting...but she is a rockstar. They made the adorable popcorn garland AND those are all actual presents that Megan brought out from under the Christmas tree! I tried my hand at Kraft paper wrapping and it looked rather sketchy. Lol! I had such a blast on this session and loved getting to spend the time capturing another photographer who I just love and admire so much through MY camera! :D

 LOVE these!!!! :D

SO happy I got to see you three over the holidays! Thank you again! I was so honored to take these images for you! :D

the westbrooks {biltmore winter session}

Monday

"Prepare Jeff to be lovey" I wrote.
I have taken pictures of Jeff and Caitlin on two different occasions, but when Caitlin said that she wanted pictures of her and Jeff at the Biltmore, I was beyond excited!!! Jeff and Caitlin have the two CUTEST and sweetest English Bulldogs ever! I love taking pictures of those two hams, but having the chance to take pictures of just Jeff and Caitlin was something I was so so so excited to finally do!

It was incredibly cold and windy the second day of the Biltmore Winter Sessions. So cold that I don't think my mittens came off my hands all day! That just means that the Westbrooks got to cuddle up that much more! :D Caitlin wrote me and told me that they were going to bring a sign with a quote on it from their favorite movie, Love Actually! They watch it every Christmas while they trim the tree. I think its the most perfect quote for them. "To me. You are Perfect."

 Swoon...

 I died when I found this little area on the Estate. I've never been to this spot before and I was giddy with having Jeff and Caitlin there!!!

Thank you so much Caitlin & Jeff!!! You are two amazing people and I'm so happy I have been able to capture your family and love again and again! :D

the roops {biltmore winter session}

Wednesday

This session is unbelievably close to my heart. This pair is just absolutely extraordinary. They have a wonderful story, the biggest hearts, they are SO much fun and make me laugh, and they are truly some of the most kind-hearted and loving people I've ever met. Bill is the talent and owner behind Bill Roop Photography and Sherry is his right hand lady! We met in a great little photographer group that I am a part of and have had small gatherings off and on throughout the year. They've been a huge part of my life through the last year, making dinner for me when Rob was here in California, watching Wipe Out (seriously, funniest show ever) and laughing so hard we cried, having lunches and just good talks. I was beyond excited when they asked to be a part of the Biltmore Winter Sessions!!!

Lets just say, it absolutely POURED rain during Bill & Sherry's session. Entire.Session. But, they didn't let that stop them from having a fun and super sweet time! As I told them...it just means they get to snuggle a LOT closer! :D

Love love!

 Bill surprised Sherry with a Christmas present during the session. He had these super awesome jersey's made (albeit they are Michigan jerseys...tsk tsk) showing their 25 year marriage! Swoon!

Perfect day!

the ganancials {biltmore winter session}

Tuesday

This family...what is there to say? They were my FIRST paying client. Lei took a chance on me when it seemed absolutely no one would. I had never taken a picture for money before (unless I had someone WAY more experienced with me...and I was assisting) and she asked me to take pictures of Sebby's Christening. :pressure: But this family has stuck with me! Its Lei & Raimund who prompted the Biltmore Winter Sessions and I couldn't be more happy that they did! I'm ridiculously proud and in LOVE with these pictures.

A little backstory: I have taken pictures for this family for about the last 3 years. Yet I have NEVER taken a picture of just Lei & Raimund together. No Sebby...just the two of them. It had never happened. I noticed this during my first session. "Crap!" I thought to myself. I didn't get a picture of Lei & Raimund together, just the two of them. But soon I realized that thats just not how they roll. They are 100% a family of 3 and to not have Sebby in the picture seemed...odd. But little guy had a different plan during the Biltmore sessions. It was coooold to say the least. Once we were done taking our nice family pictures in front of the house we strapped Seb in his stroller and headed over to the Library Terrace. :mistake...or was it?: Sebby was so toasty and warm that he absolutely did not want to get out and away from the blanket. We tried...let me tell you. But it just wasn't going to happen. So I used this time and make it a couple shoot. There were plenty of giggles to start, but soon, man! I couldn't stop taking pictures! I stopped directing and just let them do what was natural. These pictures just capture my heart. :)

Obsessed. Seriously.

abby & ben {the clan}

Friday

December is my all-time favorite month! Everything amazing happens in December..or right before. Thanksgiving, mine & Rob's dating anniversary, Diesel's birthday, Rob's birthday, my birthday (we're a December family), Christmas...I think you get where I am going with this. So with that said, I have yet to have a session in December that I haven't been magically in love with. This session is absolutely no different!

I was thrilled when Abby reached out to me and asked me to take pictures of her and her hubs! Abby is the crazy talented photographer behind Abby Elizabeth Photography and I was absolutely tickled when she told me she was wanting some winter/Christmas pictures!!! Yay! We headed out to where she and Ben got hitched even though it had been raining all day and didn't look promising to let up. Let me just say, I love the rain. Just LOVE the rain. Its such a calming factor and it always feels like it centers me. I'm not scared of it and I was SO excited when I got a text from Abby that said, "I just got an umbrella. Lets go for it!" She knows the way to my heart!

Snuggle up with a blanket and maybe some hot cocoa...these are worth it!

Abby & Ben came with the perfect look for winter or Christmas pictures! RED, plaid, accessories...one super happy photographer right here!!!

 Might I add that this was definitely my first time ever taking pictures of cats! :D
